The hotel has done a wonderful job of respecting the old convent while updating it to modern comforts. It’s the perfect place to evoke the history of Evora while enabling you to relax in a beautiful and peaceful rural setting just minutes from the town. Our room in the convent was spacious, indeed majestic, with a luxurious bed and large bathroom. The grounds are extensive with gardens and a clean and well maintained pool that we enjoyed at the end of our days of sightseeing. But it was the service and friendliness of the staff that made the hotel so great. From the reception clerk who escorted us to our tucked away room to the accommodating pool towel assistant, everyone was so helpful and kind. We particularly enjoyed Daniel, in the ba, who indulged our enthusiasm for indigenous grapes by going over what was in the various wines available by the glass. Madelena on the breakfast buffet staff, was so gracious when we showed up early and then, unlike everyone else, asked to sit outside on the balcony in the cool morning air. Anibal kept us hydrated with the best orange juice I’ve drunk in my life and didn’t bat an eye when we went through two carafes of coffee. The breakfast buffet itself was stellar with offerings to please all ages and palates. The facility had a restaurant and fitness facility that we didn’t use, but they both looked well equipped and, if our snacks in the bar and the breakfast buffet were anything to go by, would be excellent. Truly this hotel is worth a splurge and you will leave with great memories.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Convento. Situated on the outskirts of town (just a 10 minute uber ride to the old city), it offers a serene and tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Despite being fully booked during our stay, we felt as if we had the entire place to ourselves. The vast corridors, comfortably spacious rooms, and elegant decor exuded a sense of grandeur and history that made our stay truly special. We also enjoyed the amenities offered at Convento. The outdoor and indoor pools were a real treat, and my husband and I took full advantage of them. It was a particular pleasure to lounge by the outdoor pool and have drinks served to us, adding an extra layer of relaxation to our stay. The outdoor spaces and terraces allowed us to savor evening cocktails while overlooking the picturesque courtyard. We also enjoyed the daily complementary buffet breakfasts, consisting of a large and savour spread. We had dinner one night at the convento and were impressed by both the service and quality of food offered. If ever in the region again, we would not hesitate to return.

Luckily, we were able to get a reservation at the Italian restaurant. We tried the pizza, excellent. Then, we tried the Italian dishes..excellent. Great wine too. I heard some complain because they could not get in. It was booked. Maybe better idea you let me know ahead of time to book at your dining restaurants. The pool was pretty but the water was so cold. Loved lunch by the pool. Easy to take taxi into cute little town. We bought a couple plates to take home and love them. On display in our new home. Loved the indoor pool. Great idea..

This hotel is beautiful, cozy and our bedroom (design area) had a beautiful and calm view to the amazing Alentejo's sunset. The restaurants have excellent wine selection and delicious food. The church is absolutely wonderful and we could feel peace and tranquility everywhere in the hotel. We also loved the group of singers from Alentejo who performed at night...it was really beautiful to hear the Canto Alentejano in such beautiful voices. Very friendly and attentive staff. We totally recommend.
